About

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart”. (Helen Keller)

There's an Italian heart beating in Verve

My name is Eugenio La Torre and Verve is my life.

I was born in Sicily, a wonderful, timeless land boasting unique scents and flavors, a land imbued with heritage, art, beauty and wit, where “colors are not simply filling your eyes, for they do enter into your veins and bones”. (Fabrizio Caramagna)

As a little boy I moved with my family to Milan and I grew up there, but Sicily is part of my DNA, of my being, of my spirit. It is a constant source of inspiration to me.

Love for two wheels is rooted in the deepest part of my soul, it has always existed and I reckon it will always be a part of me.

I was still in my teens when I started to study, sketch and design the first two wheels models. So much enthusiasm, so many ideas in my head and a desire to rock the world.

At the end of university I followed the path of my heart. I left Italy, as I was driven by the desire to become a motorbikes customizer. I left behind an “ordinary” life and began travelling the world. This allowed me to gain experience and draw inspiration from the encounter with faraway cultures and people of various ethnicity and backgrounds.

A story of an "On the road" dream

My trip starts in Italy, crosses Europe, continues in the United States and In Australia until when I landed in Bali.

In Bali – like anywhere else in Indonesia – motorbikes are the most commonly used transport and the “special” motorcycles universe is something unique.

In this sort of Asiatic melting pot you can bump into people from all over the world who got their own style, ideas to develop and dreams to fulfill. Each of them has a motorbike, they all want their own motorbike and it has to be different from the other ones. It is the spot where you can test your creativity and compare different experiences.

Here I have the chance to start collaborating with Titus H. (from Texas, USA) and with Nathan G. (from Amsterdam, The Netherlands), two very expert and talented customizers.

Through this synergy and the support by some very skilled local technicians, I create the Verve project: we open the first workshop and make the first customized motorbikes. Our guidelines are clear: simplicity, creativity, care for details.

Everything is possible for those who believe

We start earning our first achievements and international magazines write about us. Our small workshop widens and the team expands.

Requests from customers quickly increase to a point where Verve becomes the island benchmark in terms of special motorbikes. After a while we are known even beyond the national boarder. More and more frequently we make motorcycles for overseas customers in the United States, South America, Europe.

Everything is fine but something is still boiling inside me.

There are moments in life when we feel some sort of a revelation and everything becomes clear in a moment of vivid awareness. I realize it is time to head back to Europe. I understand my dream has to come true.

My goal is to lift my project of life to a higher level. An intuition arises in me. It is time to start a serial production of small-displacement motorcycles according to Verve original mission: refined design motorbikes, defined by an appealing, established style.

The brand starts being noticed also in Europe and sales soar. Within a few years Verve becomes popular and appreciated both by the general public and by professionals.

After over 10 years of positive achievements, our team decide to take on a new challenge: we take our first steps in the world of electric.

We love our job, so we feel constantly encouraged to evolve, improve, take on a challenge. We are pursuing innovation while keeping a clear vision of what we want to achieve.

Verve E-Bikes

Our ebike models are the tangible expression of our team in terms of passion, flair and artisan know-how. It is the very same passion which for over a decade has allowed Verve to become a popular and appreciated brand in Europe, in Asia, in South America.

We accurately design and build every ebike so that each model may be unique and timeless, in a constant balance between technology and design, halfway between ancient and modern.

We want everybody to choose the ebike appeasing their spirit and better fitting in with their personality.

We let our heart guide us. Always.

“The pleasure of riding a bike counts among those old-time pleasures having a right to come back for they are irreplaceable. From a bike saddle we can see the world in a different way, we catch some sort of an overhead glimpse. When moving at a speed allowing us to see it accurately, we enjoy its niceties and we can linger on interesting and evocative details”. (Dino Villani)

our story

A Humble Beginning

It is a beautiful ride through the hills and valleys of the Kettle Moraine region. I don’t think that I had ever ridden my bike more than ten miles in one crack, and now we were going to ride seventy miles in a single day.
Humans race for fun, for excitement, for the challenge. Competition is intrinsic to our nature. As long as there have been bicycles there has been bicycle racing. 84 years after the first intrepid cyclists battled on that oval of dirt, Trek broke ground on a new headquarters across the street.
